Dr. Haraf is a Chicago area native, and a graduate of the Chicago Medical School. Dr. Haraf joined the University of Chicago faculty upon completion of his radiation oncology residency training program at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Dr. Haraf is a recognized expert in the treatment of tumors of the head and neck, and has developed innovative multidisciplinary protocols for patients requiring re-treatment . As medical director of our practice at the Center for Advanced Medicine, Dr. Haraf has also pioneered the use of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) at the University of Chicago, establishing our local and national reputation in the use of this advanced technique. Dr. Haraf was also the focus of a recent Discovery Channel program on cancer care innovations at the University of Chicago.
