Mr. Szerlag has been with the University of Chicago since 1980 and currently serves as an Executive Administrator for the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology in the Division of the Biological Sciences (school of medicine). Mr. Szerlag is a 1984 graduate of the Executive MBA Program at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Chet has more than 20 years of experience in health care and medical group management, and is a nationally recognized leader in radiation oncology management. Mr. Szerlag is a former Chairman of the Society for Radiation Oncology Administrators, and in 1991 was awarded the Gold Medal by the Society in recognition of his leadership contributions to the Society and efforts to advance management practices in the field of radiation oncology.

In 2005 Chet will be advancing from Diplomate to Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and has also attained certified medical practice executive status with American College of Medical Group Executives. Chet is current Chair of the Radiologic Society of North America's Associated Sciences Consortium. Chet has for several years also served on the editorial board of the journal Advance for Imaging and Oncology Administrators.

Mr. Szerlag is active in local government and community affairs, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Village of Woodridge, Illinois, and is also President-elect of the Rotary Club of Woodridge.
