Highlights from 2004

  • In 2004, the Department of Radiation & Cellular Oncology celebrated its 20th anniversary as a University and Hospitals department. This milestone was observed with an interdisciplinary symposium on June 18th, highlighting the department’s clinical, biological, and medial physics achievements during the past two decades. The symposium featured nationally recognized speakers from Harvard University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Memorial Sloan Kettering, as well as the University of Chicago.
  • In 2004 an important new textbook was authored and edited by faculty members Dr. Mundt and Dr. Roeske, entitled “Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy: A Clinical Perspective,” with publication in Spring, 2005
  • During the 2004 academic year we recruited Steven Chmura, MD PhD to our faculty from our residency program
